Please read the important information below with an URGENT UPDATE from Phoenix Academy.
As part of the Academy’s monitoring and action plan regarding COVID-19 and considering recent government guidelines around social distancing and group gatherings, the decision has been made to move to online virtual classrooms from Monday 6th April 2020 for ALL programs. All students currently enrolled in the Phoenix High School preparation course will be able to continue face-to-face classes this week until Friday 3rd April, 2020. Appropriate safety measures are in place on campus, so students are encouraged to attend classes this week in order to receive all the required information and training around our new online delivery model.
For students unable to attend classes in person this week, a series of zoom session links have been provided below to ensure all students can successfully continue studies via the online delivery mode. Please be assured the online delivery mode is designed to be as effective as your normal face-to-face classes and we strongly believe will help to keep improving your English knowledge just as if you are attending classes on campus. We are strongly committed to supporting you through this period Phoenix Academy is committed to the ongoing health, safety and well-being of all our students and staff. This remains our top priority.
I hope the information below will assist further in answering some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

If unable to attend classes on campus this week, a range of Zoom training sessions will be held in order to ensure students are equipped with the requirements and knowledge for the online delivery mode.

5) What technology will I need?:
- Students are required to have IT equipment (a learning device) such as a laptop, computer (PC) or smart device such as an iPad. (This is preferred over a smart phone in order to ensure students can watch lessons and interact via the student portal effectively)
- Students will require access to a stable wifi internet connection or high-speed cabled internet for computers (eg. ADSL)
Note: Students should also have a quiet space allocated where they can study and listen to the classes.
All study materials /learning resources will be uploaded into the My Phoenix Online Portal for students to access for each class as required.
6) What is my online study timetable?:
The classes are designed to be full-time and intensive to ensure students can still meet their learning goals and study pathways.
A finalised timetable will be placed on the student portal by the end of this week, so that students are reminded of daily zoom schedules and learning activities, however, classes and learning activities will run according to our full-time study timetable of 9am to 2:15pm (Monday to Friday), with additional homework and reading activities each week.
You will also receive an email by the end of the week to confirm your study plan and timetable. You will have contact with your teacher everyday via multiple live sessions (over zoom) and will be required to complete the learning tasks for the day on the Student Portal.
7) How long will I need to take classes online?
We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We will continue to teach online until we have received Government advice that it is safe for students to return physically to school. The health and wellbeing of our students is of utmost importance.
8) Can I attend classes if I am not onshore?
