Now is the ideal time to plan your future in ‘Perth-fect’ Perth!
It is already well-known that Perth is a fantastic destination for international students to study, work and live! Being one of the world’s most liveable cities, it offers high-quality education in a safe, welcoming and culturally diverse study environment, with a pleasant climate, relaxed lifestyle and a vibrant economy…. what more could you want?
Perth can now offer international students even more opportunities!
From November 16, 2019 new definitions will apply to a range of Australian cities and regional zones, with positive outcomes expected on visa processing, skilled migration and international education opportunities. This change means Perth will become a ‘major regional centre’, giving it access to the dedicated 25,000 regional places across Australia and priority processing of visas.
Furthermore, international students in Perth will be eligible to access an additional year of post-study working rights (3 years in total), compared to the standard 2-year post-study work visa available to students studying in the larger, more heavily populated cities in the East Coast of Australia.
With many large Australian and International companies having their headquarters located in Perth, it is the perfect location for skilled graduates and workers as they will now have access to additional benefits should they choose the path to permanent residency making Perth the ideal place to study, live, work and launch their careers!
Study Perth announces that ‘the policy change, initiated by the WA Government, emphasises the importance of international students to the culture, diversity and economy of the state and identifies international education as a government priority.’
