The Western Australian TVET Consortium was created as a result of an opportunity advertised in mid-2018 to prepare College Improvement Plans for 25 Saudi Arabian Colleges of Excellence. TVET was successful in winning the contract for writing Improvement Plans for 3 Colleges in Saudi Arabia. Only seven contracts were awarded worldwide (two from Australia, one from South Korea, one from Germany, two from UK and one from the USA). Phoenix Academy was instrumental in gathering an expert consortium of quality West Australian institutions and Vocational Education Consultants.
The WA TVET Consortium comprises of Phoenix Academy/ITE, North Metro TAFE, South Metro TAFE and Miles Morgan and is one of the first public/private consortia in Australia. The TVET team is currently in the College Improvement Plan writing phase. Two representatives from the team have just returned from information gathering trips to the colleges in Jazan, Jeddah and Al-Baha. The Implementation Phase which will be tendered for soon will result in ongoing training for staff, curriculum development, policy development and managerial consulting work for the members of the consortium. This is a great win for Western Australia’s Technical Training providers and Vocational Consultants. Watch this space.
